Outline of Research at the Start	これまでに我々は、細胞外の乳酸は脳虚血障害に対して保護的に働くことを見出したが、そのメカニズムについては不明であった。本国際共同研究では、「細胞外乳酸は、プロスタグランジンの輸送機能を制御して脳虚血障害を抑制する」との独自の仮説を提唱し、トランスポーター機能評価系を構築しているVaddhanaphuti博士との共同研究にてこの仮説を検証し、新しい脳卒中治療戦略の開発につなげることを目的とする。
