| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
This study investigated the heavy rain disaster caused by Typhoon No. 12 in 2011 and clarified its mechanisms and the disaster resistance of the Kii Peninsula. Moreover, in order to enhance the effectiveness of regional prevention plan for heavy rain disaster, we are aimed at developing disaster prevention technologies and creating communities strong against the natural disaster in the Kii Peninsula which has many mountains and long coastline. Specifically, it is the developments of an information and communication system to use various disaster information effectively and educational programs for disaster prevention using this system in the Kii Peninsula.
