Outline of Final Research Achievements |
The flow of goods and people and the images of others in Imperial Japan have been researched based on the fieldwork and documentary records materials. Focusing on the approximation and vicinity between the suzerain and colonies, the ease of flow and the intention of assimilation should be pointed. The variation of interpretation for the colonial modernity among these areas: Taiwan, Korea and Okinawa, is discussed based on the investigation of goods. Concerning the flow between the colonies, especially Taiwan-Okinawa and Korea-Taiwan, research data has been accumulated. Through this research, it should be clearly noted that the analysis of the flow in Imperial Japan needs to be considered along with external connections.
