Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Higher manganese silicide-based chimney-ladder compounds have been prepared and detailed crystal structure of four new phases has been determined. Metallic composition to realize potential thermoelectric (TE) properties has been investigated and the best p-type performance has been achieved for a lightly vanadium-substituted samples. A 3cm x 3cm size TE module has been fabricated and its power generation has been measured under a temperature difference of 400 K. The highest output power of 1.3 W has been recorded, which corresponds to the power density of 1.25 kW/m2.
