Outline of Final Research Achievements |
The objective of this study is to reveal the relationship among the mesoporous carbons with various pore structure and their performance for applications. (1) Ordered mesoporous carbon films prepared by a spin-coating technique have an Im3m structure. Nitrogen-containing ordered mesoporous carbon films were also synthesized using self-assembly of m-aminophenol as a single carbon and nitrogen source and triblock copolymer Pluronic F127. (2) The structure of carbons was changed from the 3D-connected framework to the aggregate of carbon particles. The pore size could be largely changed from 6.8 nm (for the 3D-connected framework structure) to 56 nm (for the carbon particle aggregate structure). (3) New nanoporous carbons were prepared by a carbonization of resorcinol-formaldehyde-Pluronic F127 composite in the presence of KOH. The synthesized nanoporous carbon possess 2.4 nm pores, which could not be obtained by previous reported soft-templating method.
