Outline of Final Research Achievements |
It is important to reduce the amount of CO2 emission from vehicles, since it takes a large part of total CO2 emission. The amount of CO2 emission significantly depends on the behavior of a vehicle. So, smooth traffic conditions controlled by well-designed signal control strategy is effective for the purpose. There have been a lot of signal control methods designed for reducing stop duration of vehicles. However more effective way to reduce CO2 emission is to reduce frequency of stops of vehicles. In this paper, I discuss about simulation based evaluation of signal controlling method for CO2 reduction.
