| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
This study aimed to translate manufacturing techniques of traditional Japanese textiles into sustainable textile design in our times. On the basis of fieldwork at local communities, not only designing colors and forms of textiles but also holistic design including lifestyle were discussed. Exploring traditional materials and manufacturing techniques, and an ecological design method, we carried out to make baskets with hybrid design combining different areas, culture, materials and local people.
