Outline of Final Research Achievements |
In collaboration with the projects participated by curators of various museums throughout the country, we conducted support activities for children in the areas affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake in 2011, and examined its effectiveness and sustainability. Although the activities of temporary exhibition of children's work and provision of real materials were not sustained, hands-on workshops continued and the scale and area of activities were rather expanding even after five years. This suggested that activities of direct communication with children is more effective and sustainable than indirect activities. In addition to this, analysis of the organization and financial contents of the project indicated that small entity capable of fast and flexible decision-making enhanced the sustainability of activities.
