Outline of Final Research Achievements |
The purpose of this research was to present a model of an English lesson centering on oral reading and summary-making, based on the analysis of master senior high school teachers who can teach English for both communication and preparation for university entrance exams. Yasugi (2014) proposed practical examples of classes focusing on oral reading at a college of technology, generalized upon these, and proposed a method of teaching that was systematic. The problems with these examples were that some slow learners were not able to catch up with the class. Yasugi (2016) investigated the ways of teaching, as well as the concepts of teaching and learning, of the master high school English teachers. This study revealed that speaking was effective as a teaching method for slow learners. Yasugi (2017) proposed a teaching method suitable for slow learners. In the final year of this investigation, a forum was held to present the findings.
