Outline of Final Research Achievements	This research aimed to examine (1) the pension system as the social insuarance of the Islamic society and (2) personnel lives in the late Ottoman society based on personnel records of the state steampship company, the Ottoman public redords and regulations. As a result, we made clear the real state of the pension system and its problems as well as its effects on individual lives.
