In this research project, I utilize the ceoveptulization developed by Stephen Krasner on several dimensions of "sovereignty." I define "state" as political entities enjoying international legal, and Westphalian/Vatellian, sovereignty. Also "governmnet" can be defined as those materializing domestic sovereignty. Collapsed states, therefore, can be defined by "state" without "government." in this research. I developed this typology from static to more dynamic model to describe international society from a point of view of a variety of entitiies composed of defferent levels of "state" as well as those of "governmnet" in contemporary world.
Against this framework, I also analyzed the political situation of Somalia by refering to south-central somalia, Somaliland and Puntland in regional term. In addition, the topics of islamists, piracy as well as diaspora were analyzed to understand Somalia in more conprehensive manner.
