Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Health-impaired children at regular elementary schools, who need special support due to chronic illnesses or mental problems, often have underlying developmental problems. Therefore, school teachers and parents bear heavy burdens of educating and nurturing such children. Interprofessional collaboration in the community is effective to provide comprehensive support for these children. Furthermore, teachers and staffs at special support schools for health-impaired children need to acquire expertise in developmental disabilities as well as physical diseases so that these schools can fulfill their central function in the community.
