Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Development of manufacturing processs by using homegeneous transition-metal-catalyzed process is vital for green chemistry. However, the exsisting catalytic processes mainly depend on the use of precious metal resources. Therefore, development of a reactive common-metal-catalyzed process is a challenging target for synthetic chemists. In this study, we developed novel synthetic methodology for the preparation of active low-valent niobium compounds and their use as catalysts/reagents for innovative environmentally benign organic transformations. In this study, we report the novel synthetic method for trimerization of isocyanates, 1,3-cyclohexadienes, pyrimidines, and amides from alkenes, alkynes, and nitriles by using the niobium species derived from pentaalkoxyniobium and pentachloroniobium as precursors.
