Outline of Final Research Achievements |
We tried to develop biosensor enzymes useful for the specific quantification of physiologically active amines such as GABA, tyramine, histamine, by elucidating the substrate recognition mechanism of two bacterial copper-containing amine oxidases possessing broad substrate specificity. Unfortunately we could not develop a promising enzyme as a biosensor, but in silico analysis shows a high correlation with biochemical results and it is at a stage where it can be fully utilized for the molecular design of amine oxidase.
