Outline of Final Research Achievements |
In the present study, I examined the mechanism that carbohydrate restriction during pregnancy does not exacerbate glucose and lipid metabolism induced by high fat diet in mice offspring. Carbohydrate restriction did not promote the expression of fatty acid synthesis-related genes and improved insulin sensitivity via increasing small-sized white adipocytes. I also examined the relationship between intrauterine undernutrition and development of psychiatric disorder. Offspring of total energy restriction group had higher stress sensitivity and showed anxiety-like behavior, but which was alleviated in the offspring of carbohydrate restriction group.
