Outline of Final Research Achievements

We isolated SSEA-1dim Sca-1neg N-Cadherinpos undifferentiated cell population derived from endosteal mesenchymal cells in mouse bone marrow by a fluorescence activated cell sorter using pluripotent stem cell markers. Comprehensive gene expression analysis demonstrated that these cells show ES cell-like gene expression patterns. These cells were not increased under ES cell culture condition ande seemed to be domant in steady state. We examine the cell proliferation and differentiation under stress such as irradiation or drugs.
