Outline of Final Research Achievements |
We conducted genomic analysis of Shiga toxin-producing Escherichia coli belonging novel O serogroups (O182-O187). Based on the O-antigen biosynthesis gene clusters extracted from draft genomes, each O-serogroup-specific PCR method was designed. Screening by using the PCR methods showed that two O182, six O183, one O185 and one O186 were identified from 2014-2015 STEC isolates in Japan.
