Outline of Final Research Achievements |
(1) We developed four or two monoclonal antibodies against Gram-negative enterohepatic Helicobacters, Helicobacter bilis or Helicobacter hepaticus, respectively. The Helicobacter hepaticus genome has been sequenced. For the epitope analysis the Helicobacter bilis genome was sequenced. (2) We developed in vitro isolation and culture method of hamster bile duct epithelial cells. We performed a comprehensive analysis of upregulated or downregulated gene sets in these cells infected with Helicobacter bilis or Helicobacter hepaticus using DNA microarray. (3) We developed two Helicobacter bilis or Helicobacter hepaticus infection models against hamster (5-week-old, female) and mouse (6-week-old, female).
