Effect of irradiation or trans-arterial embolization on endothelium of cerebral arteriovenous malformations remains to be elucidated. We clarified the significant role of vascular endothelial growth factor in proliferative vasculopathy following those interventions in rat cerebral arteriovenous malformation model and surgical specimens.
