Outline of Final Research Achievements

Reconstruction of the reproductive function with genital organ transplantation is important theme for patients who has gender identity disorder or reproductive disorder due to tumor resection. We modified our super-microsurgical testis transplantation procedure at homosexual model, and acquired minimally invasive result. In the testis transplantation models, we recognized testosterone secretion and sperm formation at higher rate.In the ovary transplantation models, we recognized estrogen secretion and pregnancy. In the transplantation model using GFP-transgenic rats, germ cell trafficking could not be demonstrated. We established penis transplant procedure. And we would like to improve this method to penis-testis co-transplantation.
