Outline of Final Research Achievements |
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the utilization situation and enhancement of a “narrative web site of dementia” that the authors developed and to clarify the effect of its use for nursing education. We conducted semi-structured interviews with ten persons with dementia and 35 family carers. We analyzed the data using thematic analysis and classified it into 5 categories and 29 topics. After updating the website and evaluating its utilization in the last year, the topic accessed most frequently was speech or conduct (unrest, violence, delusions) that was troublesome to deal with. Subsequently, the web site was introduced in nursing education and group discussion was conducted. As a result, it was suggested that the presentation method that combined the person with dementia and family carers had a learning effect.
