Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Three researches were conducted. First, faculties of pediatric and psychiatric nursing both reported on the educational contents and methods of children and adolescents’ mental health nursing by self-administered questionnaires. In the result of this research, it was found that Japanese nursing schools have dealt with basic knowledge rather than practical expertise of mental health with children and adolescents. Next, interviews were conducted with 27 stakeholders of children and adolescents mental health services and analyzed using a qualitative method. A competency model for nurses working at child and adolescent psychiatric wards was developed. Finally, scenes of nursing care for patient and their family were recorded via participant observation and video recording. The interaction procces were analyzed using ethnomethodology.
