In Vietnamese crowding area of Yao, Osaka, we conducted a field survey on Vietnamese people who participate in a heritage language class. The subjects of survey were Vietnamese adolescents and their parents. From interview with them and a questionnaire to them, the process of Vietnamese adolescents’ identity formation has three stages, “unexamined cultural identity”, “cultural identity search”, and “Cultural identity achievement”.
