Outline of Final Research Achievements |
We have developed novel spiro pi-conjugated molecules, one subunit of which can emit orange light via an excited state intramolecular proton transfer. We found that these molecules consisted of a conjugated fluorene and an ESIPT subunit exhibit white-light emission by the single wavelength excitation. Electronic effect of substituents in two pi-systems on white emission has been disclosed.
