Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Transparent glass ceramics doped with 3d transition metal ions were developed forsuper broadband optical amplifier. In order to achieve broad luminescence in telecommunication wavalength, glass ceramics precipitated with nanocrystals containing Cr4+ ions, anormalous valence were fabricated. From XRD, various glass ceramics containing either Mg2SiO4 or Li2ZnSiO4 were developed in which tetravalent Cr with d2 configuration are stabilized at tetrahedral sites.
