Outline of Final Research Achievements |
We have studied structural and optical properties of self-element activated phosphors, such as Tb3Ga5O12:Eu3+ and K2MnF6. To make clear their unique phosphor properties, a comparative study has been performed with the conventional codoped phosphors, such as NaCl:Ce3+, Eu3+ and Ga2O3:Ce3+, Eu3+. An efficient energy transfer has been observed in Tb3Ga5O12:Eu3+ from the host Tb3+ ions to Eu3+, resulting in an enhanced Eu3+ red emission. Systematic studies of phosphor properties have also been carried out on I-IV-F6:Mn4+ hydrate and unhydrate phosphors, CaTiO3:Eu3+, SnO2:Mn2+, SnO2:Eu3+, and porous Si nanocrystals.
