Outline of Final Research Achievements |
After that, it became possible to extract inscriptions by the illuminance difference of the image and the illuminance model created by the shape of the surface of the stone, using the analytical digital archive we have already developed. This study is aimed at automatic recognition of characters using OCR. To attain this goal, binarization of images is necessary. Although deciphering of characters is eventually possible, it is noisy. The use of OCR is only slightly possible. OCR could not be put to practical use.
