| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
The purpose of this study was 1) to clarify functional recovery in patients who underwent total knee arthroplasty (TKA), and 2) to examine standard values of each function of patients with knee osteoarthritis. This study clarified that knee joint muscle strength, knee joint flexion angles, and walking speed on 14th postoperative days did not recover to preoperative function. Classification was done based on the relevant factors of each function, and the standard values of physical function examination and motor function examination before TKA were calculated. We believe that the findings obtained in this study will contribute to explaining the functional deterioration of patients with knee osteoarthritis, and will be the target values for judging effectiveness of physical therapy.
