The purpose of this study was to clarify conditions required in order to form bond relationships between minority and majority in Japanese society as an example of Buraku issues.
I clarified the process how Japan's Burakumin create their positive Identities by interviewing Burakumin over three generations. In addition, I analyzed the current situation of the Buraku discrimination awareness by using various research report on human rights issues.
As a result, in areas where the Buraku Liberation movement was continuing, they made positive identities through their families and the movement. However, when the Burakumin once left such a region, it was difficult for Burakumin to expose their identities in the situation lacking of understanding Buraku issues by majority.
