Outline of Final Research Achievements |
This research explores how Japanese pediatricians experience their patients’ death based on semi-structured interview. It showed that pediatricians have complicated feeling when their patients died, but they cannot always express their feeling openly because of occupational rule that demand them to “be cool” and attending doctor system and they have to cope with difficult situation caused by patients’ death by individualized way. There are little support for pediatricians who suffer from patients’ death at present, so we should build support network in future.
