Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Specific monoclonal antibodies against mouse NOX1 (clone: 26B1, 31C1) were established through the screening using NOX1-knockout mice as a negative control. This novel antibody revealed that NOX1 was expressed in Ki-67-positive proliferating colonic epithelial cells but not in WGA-bound goblet cells, supporting a recent finding that NOX1 is involved in mucosal wound repair. In addition, anti-NOX1 antibody partially suppressed NOX1/NADPH oxidase activity, which suggests a possible usage as neutralizing antibodies.
