Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Modern radiation therapy are becoming more complex to improve patient outcomes. To realize the safe and accurate dose delivery to cancer patients, we have developed a non-invasive delivered dose verification system focused on a four-dimensional radiation therapy (4D-RT). Respiratory motion is a major factor contributing to errors and uncertainties in radiotherapy. The 4D-RT has enabled us increasing tumor control and reducing the risk of toxicities for respiratory moving tumors like lung cancer. Our developed system can provide higher quality and greater safety for the 4D-RT.
