We examined the effect of 5 alpha reductase inhibitors for the steroid hormone and mens’ health using gas chromatography mass spectrometry etc. On the results of urinary steroid profile, the ratio of androsterone/eticholanolone (An/Et) was inhibited strongly early without depending on the age, urinary status, prostate size and androgen status and we could confirm the strength of the inhibition effect of this medicine. In the cases of interruption of drug, the positive correlation between the degree of the recovery of An/Et and PSA was observed and the degree of the recovery of the male hormone might be able to be presumed by the degree of the recovery of the PSA level.
