Outline of Final Research Achievements

ARID1A encodes BAF250a, a key component of the SWI-SNF chromatin remodeling complex. ARID1A mutations are observed in various tumors, including ovarian clear cell and endometrioid carcinomas, endometrial, and breast carcinomas. In this study, we demonstrated that ARID1A negatively regulates cellular proliferation. This negative regulation is achieved through molecular collaboration between ARID1A and p53, to regulate tumor-inhibiting p53-downstream target genes such as CDKN1A (p21).
