Outline of Final Research Achievements |
In this study, we investigated the protective effect of 18 supplements, and 8 herbal medicine against hair cell degeneration induced by neomycin using zebrafish lateral hair cells damage model. We found that 3 supplements and all of 8 herbal medicine protects sensory hair cells against neomycin-induced death in zebrafish lateral cell lines. In addition, we confirmed the protective effect of screened drugs against noise-induced hearing loss in guinea pigs. These results show that screened drugs can be useful as a protective drug in the inner ear.
