The boron-neutron capture therapy(BNCT) is one of the high LET radiation treatment.As for the high LET radiation, high effect of treatment is obtained regardless of the genotype of the cancer.A purpose of this study is to determine a control structure of the cell death of the cancer cell by BNCT.We used human gingival squamous cell carcinoma cells Ca9-22 for a study.Cellular sensitivities were determined using colony-forming assays. Apoptosis was detected and quantified with Hoechst 33342 staining. The activity of caspase-3 and PARP were analyzed with Western blotting. During study period, our study was adopted in Kyoto University Research Reactor Institute.A nuclear reactor did not work after Great East Japan Earthquake.Therefore our study is only a study with the low LET radiation.
