This study attempted to elucidate a nursing intervention for marital problems, including suicide, when the husband is dependent on alcohol. Factors influencing couples’ mental status were identified by quantitative research conducted with 444 couples where the husband is dependent on alcohol. Data obtained were used to organize a nursing intervention for marital problems.
