Outline of Final Research Achievements |
This project investigates music historiography between 1870-1945 in order to clarify how music historiography described ‘contemporary music’. After France’s defeat in the Franco-Prussian War, music historiography began to be published in France. After 1918, in particular, ‘contemporary music’ was significant in order to demonstrate the supremacy of French Music.
