Outline of Final Research Achievements

As results of our investigation for skeletal muscles of home-bound patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), they had morphological and neurological muscle disorder. Additionally, muscle thickness and strength had a strong correlation with physical endurance and activity.
Electrical muscles stimulation (EMS) training to COPD for three months brings about desirable effects such as improvements of muscular hypertrophy and strength and physical endurance. Our results suggested that EMS training was significant value to home-bound patients with COPD.
