Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Using 20 genomes from 19 mammalian species, we identified 736,765 nucleotide sequences that are possibly derived from viruses (called EVE). For each sequence, its locus, amino acid and nucleotide sequences, functional motifs, and similar endogenous/exogenous viral sequences were annotated. These results are publically available via a database (gEVE, http://geve.med.u-tokai.ac.jp).
