Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Three novel β-mannoside phosphorylases (β-1,4-mannosyl-N-acetylglucosamine phosphorylase, β-1,2-mannbiose phosphorylase and β-1,2-oligomannan phosphorylase) were characterized as new member of glycoside hydrolase family 130 from Bacteroides thetaiotaomicron and Thermoanaerobacter sp. X-514. We further suggested that these β-mannoside phosphorylases play crunical roles in metabolisms of N-glycans or beta-1,2-oligomannan.
