本研究は、先住民アートが社会変化に与える影響と脱植民地化における役割を明らかにすることを目的とする。カナダ、米国、ペルー、日本、ニュージーランド、オーストラリアの6か国の先住民社会を比較し、各国において先住民がアート制作を通じて政治・経済的自律化を推進してきた過程を分析する。特に、先住民アートが脱植民地化において果たす意義を比較検討し、その役割を解明する。
