本研究では，微小域の分子情報を取得できる顕微ラマン分光分析法を用い，東アジア10地点で採取するかんらん岩捕獲岩中の流体包有物一つ一つの炭素及び酸素の同位体比を測定することで，マントルウェッジにおける海洋プレート由来炭素の有無や寄与した端成分を究明し，マントルウェッジにおける炭素循環系を解き明かす．この知見は，海洋プレートの脱炭素過程の解明や地球内部を包含した全球炭素循環系のミッシングリンク解消にも繋がるであろう．
