Outline of Research at the Start

本研究では中国の近代建築技術者の活動を明らかにし、中国における建築の近代化プロセスの連続性を学術的な視点から紐解くと共に、現存する近代建築の社会的、歴史的価値の再構築を目指す。具体的には次の3点を明らかにする。①1840年以後、中国では多くの日本人・西洋人建築技術者が活動し、多くの近代建築作品を残した。②それらの外国人建築家に師事した中国人建築技術者も多く出現した。③これらの中国人建築家は、1949年の建国後も中国内外で活躍し、さらには海外へ渡って華僑となり、世界的な建築家となった人物もいた。
