Outline of Research at the Start

ウイルス感染は宿主細胞のエンドサイトーシスをハイジャックすることから始まる。本研究では、申請者が原子間力顕微鏡ライブイメージングで発見したインフルエンザウイルス特有のエンドサイトーシス現象について、細胞膜の形態変化と分子局在を同時に観察する相関イメージング手法を用いて分子機構を解明する。これまでの定説（クラスリン依存性エンドサイトーシス）とは異なるウイルス固有の侵入経路を明らかにすることで、新規の抗ウイルス薬や感染症治療法の開発につながる基盤的知見の創出を目指す。
