Outline of Research at the Start

本研究の目的はJ.S.ミル思想の全体像の解明にある。但し一つの学問分野のみから思想の内実に迫るのではなく学問横断的に統合するのが特徴である。この研究を単独の研究者が実行することは極めて困難だが、本研究では我が国の各学問分野のエキスパートが集まりそれぞれの専門領域を重ね合わせ現代人文・社会諸科学の領域をカバーする。つまりJ.S.ミルの思想を結節点として各分野広がりを持って研究する。我々はJ.S.ミルを19世紀ヨーロッパという学問専門化及び細分化の進行する時代の最後の「万能人（homo universalis ）」と位置づけその解明を行う。
