本研究計画「リテロ＝グラフィカシーを展開軸とする中世視覚認識論の構築」は、ヨーロッパ中世における文字（語の綴り）を組合わせた綴字型視覚記号（リテロ＝グラフィクス）という概念を立てることで関連諸学の成果を縫合し、新たな学術プラットフォームの構築を目指すものである。本計画では、まず綴字型視覚記号についてのデータをヨーロッパ中世の各分野について蒐集・評価して類型化し、続いて関連諸学の成果と方法を検証して継承可能な形式に整序し、それらをもとに綴字型視覚記号における認識のメカニズムの解明に向けて、歴史学・歴史資料体論の方法をベースに、認知言語学との連携を進めていく。
