Outline of Research at the Start

本研究は、南米のアンデス山脈とアマゾン熱帯雨林が接する地域において、人類がどのように自然環境に適応し、文明を築いてきたのかを明らかにすることを目的とする。対象地域はペルー共和国ワヌコ州であり、山岳地帯や森林地帯における暮らしや土地利用の実態、さらに地域間の交流のあり方について、遺跡調査や年代測定などを通じて検討する。過去の人類社会と環境との関わりを解明することで、現代における持続可能な社会の構築に資する知見を得ることを目指す。
