Outline of Research at the Start

本研究はこれまで世界的に野外調査や実資料に基づく考古学研究成果が少ない中央アジアの天山－パミール地域において、野外考古学調査を実施し新資料を獲得して後期旧石器時代初頭から前期にかけての編年を構築し、この地域の後期旧石器文化の成立過程の解明を目指すものである。現生人類のユーラシア拡散の実態解明にもつながり、先史考古学のみならず人類学にも波及効果が大きい。さらに中央アジアにおける後期旧石器文化の成立過程の解明を通じて、隣接する北アジアや東アジアの同時期の動向も比較して、日本列島における後期旧石器文化の成立過程の解明も視野に収めている。中央アジアを起点としてユーラシア東部をシームレスに検討する。
