Outline of Research at the Start

リベラル国際秩序（LIO：Liberal International Order）が大きく変わろうとしている。トランプ政権下で打撃を受けたLIOの「復活」を唱え、民主主義や多角主義を重視したバイデン政権も自由貿易には背を向けるなど、LIOはトランプ以前とは異なる構造に変わりつつあるからである。本研究は、この新たなLIOを「大国間競争に埋め込まれたLIO」と位置づけ、LIOを支えてきた米日独が、自由貿易・民主主義・多角主義というLIOの３分野においてどのように行動してきたのかを、過去約30年間にわたり調査し、「大国間競争に埋め込まれたLIO」が誕生した背景とメカニズムを解明する。
